Love Actually Relationship Map
This is just a post to test some tweaks I made to the flickr blogging template. But I really am fairly proud of this map we made, ages ago, of the relationships in the film ??Love, Actually??. Click through and choose “All Sizes” if you want to read the text.
h3. Update
I notice that I’m getting some traffic from folks who can’t read the text very well. The large image size at flickr is “here.”://http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=37926997&size=l However, the best solution for the really curious is to use the graphviz markup that generates the image and play with it directly. I stuck the markup in a comment at the main “flickr page”:http://www.flickr.com/photos/kukkurovaca/37926997/ for the picture.
Graphviz is a great open source application that generates maps based on connections between nodes. You can get it “here,”:http://www.graphviz.org/ although if you’re a smart OSX user, there’s a great GUI frontend “here.”:http://www.pixelglow.com/graphviz/
One of the advantages to actually setting up graphviz on your computer is that you can muck about with the map or make new ones. The markup is pretty straightforward, even for the not-very-sophisticated.
