This is oh so true of me. Except that I have no such dream. Well, perhaps my dream of being mildly entertaining.
Renee got this for me a while back, but I just staples for it the other day (i.e., 1/2″ staples) so I could use it on Andrew’s Fuks manuscript.
I ride Bay Area Rapid Transit (our light rail system) to work every morning (I also take two buses), and the other day, a fellow passenger pointed out that I was knitting while sitting under one of these signs — part of a series saluting different passenger niches, like “sleeping” and “smelly indigent” and “knitting.” I didn’t have my camera on me that day, or I would’ve gotten a picture of me; I did manage to catch the sign on its own today, however.
Of course, I wonder just how they decide what groups/behaviors to feature. My favorite theory is that someone’s job is to monitor surveillance cameras and see who’s doing what, second favorite is that someone rides the trains and takes notes, least favorite that someone just *assumes* there are knitting passengers.
There can’t be that many of us, as I’ve only personally witnessed one other. (I know there are others — Yarn Boy has blogged about BART delays, for example — but cannot personally attest to witnessing them.)
I don’t really flip for case mods, but oh, man, would I love me a Banana Jr. 6000. Gene Simmons never had one, after all….

The treesweater author has added a “patterns to be knit” category to her blog. This is an excellent idea. I normally handle this via “Del.icio.us,”:http://del.icio.us/kukkurovaca/knitting+patterns which has the added benefit of categorization. Although if I were a good web 2.0ist, I’d be adding verbose descriptions as well, methinks.
