	<p>Amusing for the photos of of men in top hats beating eachother with canes.  Our sword group briefly studied the japanese version of some of this. I kind of miss the class.  I&#8217;ll pick it up again in April.</p>

	<p>Ah also, I&#8217;d like some insight as to the use of the terms &#8220;Physical Culture&#8221; and the practice of distributing manuals.  There&#8217;s a bit in Jade Empire when you beat the dutchman and one of the options is to receive a manual of physical health or something.  Has it always been the case that one learns these western combative skills through manuals?  That is not to say that prints on the subject didn&#8217;t exist in the east, but my impression is that there they were sort of a joke.  </p>
