Journal of Non-lethal Combatives, Vigny Cane
Amusing for the photos of of men in top hats beating eachother with canes. Our sword group briefly studied the japanese version of some of this. I kind of miss the class. I’ll pick it up again in April.
Ah also, I’d like some insight as to the use of the terms “Physical Culture” and the practice of distributing manuals. There’s a bit in Jade Empire when you beat the dutchman and one of the options is to receive a manual of physical health or something. Has it always been the case that one learns these western combative skills through manuals? That is not to say that prints on the subject didn’t exist in the east, but my impression is that there they were sort of a joke.
Didn’t they have this stuff in Neuromancer? But that was deployed by spraying it, not by hiding it in stuff.

Woo hoo! NAAAAN. It’s a shame I like curry so much. It’s also a shame that James’ curry reminds me of the runs, I’m sure it was tasty curry.
New Category! For Andrew.
This is a big step forward for nonlethal weapons tech, though it’s still not as cool as that french infrasound generator. But if it works very well, it might be a step towards the use of nonlethal ammunition in situations where currently police would have to use real bullets.
Of course, sooner or later someone’s going to forget what he loaded his shotgun with, resulting in either (a) tragedy, or (b) a lucky break for some deer.
