Downtown is McDonald’s free…

Saturday, September 8th, 2007

Burlington no longer has a McDonald’s in its downtown. There isn’t one in the state capital of Montpelier, either. Granted, there’s a couple in South Burlington and one in Barre right next to Montpelier, but it’s still amusing to see one close.

It was an ugly, dingy thing anyway.

More urban exploration…

I’ve been following Max Action’s stuff since back when it used to get updated regularly.

I wish I were crazy enough to do this sort of thing, too, but I doubt Burlington has either the layout or the size necessary for much of the awe-inspiring.

I like short words I’ve never heard of.

Slovenian cave salamanders, anyone?

If it weren’t for it being the featured article, I’m not sure I would have ever found it.

May a copper-dicked owl take it!

I wonder whether or not I should bring The Master and Margarita with me or not. Somehow, the Jarry provides valuable input.

Then once by man and angels to be seen…

Below the thunders of the upper deep;
Far far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides; above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumber’d and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge seaworms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.

I’m sure Alfred, Lord Tennyson was sick of looking at that damn “teledildonics” nonsense too. Although I suppose his would have been telegraph-controlled and steam-powered. Or perhaps that newfangled internal combustion.

Watch enough of this to get the general idea, and then try the cutup version.

Come join the fun!
